Our physical Library (as opposed to the online Library Catalog) is filled with many different books and documents that could be of use in your genealogy research.  Although we cannot do genealogy, we are eager to look through our materials to see what we may have in printed form that will answer a question or find a missing person.  Many of our books have not been digitized, so they are not available through Ancestry or other websites.

We will need to know the name of a person, the date and approximate location of an event that might include them (such as the birth, death, obituary, will, etc.)  We are very resourceful at finding things that might help, so the more data you can provide, the better chance we have of finding a clue.

NWMGS offers research assistance at a very reasonable rate. The minimum charge is $5.00 and includes up to one half hour of the research librarian's time. Each additional half hour is $5.00. The librarian will be happy to estimate the time required to research your request and will work with you to determine what the expected time frame is in advance. Copies are $0.25 each and postage is determined by the quantity of copies. Most materials can be scanned and sent electronically, if you wish.

Payment can be made by check or money order. We also offer the convenience of PayPal and Stripe for those wishing to make electronic payment.

Research results are generally completed within 2-3 weeks, depending upon the complexity and nature of the research requested.
